Did you ever hear that line of hogwash from an Internet Service Provider? They can’t keep you free from viruses, trojans, spyware, adware and spam — only you can do that, with the proper software.
In order to protect your computer from the attackers of today’s Internet, you need to have a software firewall, a hardware firewall if you use cable or DSL, an anti-virus program that automatically gets the current anti-virus signatures and program updates, and anti-spyware/anti-adware program and an anti-spam program.
