Did your kids pull the old “No I don’t want to go trick or treating on Halloween, this year” trick on you? And did they then decide that all of their friends were going to go, and now you need to come up with the perfect Halloween costume for your kids – at the very last minute!? Well you’re in luck, because this little article here is going to help you to come up with the fastest halloween costumes for kids out there! Keep reading!

First and foremost, take a deep breath, it’s Halloween, smell the autumn freshness and the fallen leaves. Look around you, at all of the beautiful changing colors in the trees nearby. Remember what it was like to be a child dressing up for Halloween, going trick or treating with your parents or if you were lucky enough, with your friends? Do you remember that the essence of this special night is not who has the best halloween costume, and not who paid the most for their costume, how long they have been planning it, who has the most original costume, or even who looks the best in their costumes! No, instead the focus is on the laughs, the candy and treats, the neighbors, their scary halloween decorations and generally the good cheer and that little bit of mystical spookiness around.

Now, the trick to coming up with the best last minute halloween costume for your kids is to try to instill this excitement and enthusiasm to your children! Spend some time together coming up with ideas, let them tell you what they would like to dress up as for Halloween. For instance, some children prefer to dress scary, while others want to be superheros, and others still want to be knights and princesses. Take their ideas and run with it!

If it’s possible, you should check out your local stores and stock up on the props you could use for their costumes: witch hats, brooms, capes, crowns, tights, wings, wands, you name it. If it’s too late or the stores are too far that’s alright. Turn their costumes in funny versions: superheros can be “Mr. Clean” and bringing a mop, a sponge and a bucket attached to their bum may work well. Or a princess can be the princess of garbage, with garbage bags as clothes and a paper crown.

Don’t let time be your obstacle, think on your feet, and no matter what – Enjoy Halloween Night! Trick or treat!!
