Removal Of Toxins With The Honeysuckle Herbal Remedy

Honeysuckle is considered to be one of the best herbal remedy for removing heat from your body and for releasing toxins and poisons from your body. It is one of the oldest healing herbs in history. Europeans once used honeysuckle, or woodbine, for many different complaints, including asthma, urinary problems, and childbirth. The honeysuckle herbal remedies use three different parts of the plant, including the flower buds, the flowers themselves, and the flower stem. Herbal remedies are also made from the honeysuckle’s flower buds. The flower buds are very important in Chinese herbal medicine. The flower buds or jin yin hua are often used to treat conditions that include a fever. They are thought to be especially helpful in treating conditions that are due to the summer heat, by working to clear the toxins or fire poisons from the body. Fire poisons are thought to cause many different ailments in the body, including dysentery and boils.

Diarrhea is also treated using the honeysuckle flower buds. In Chinese herbal medicine, the buds are stir-fried lightly to help treat diarrhea symptoms. Summer time is when you should harvest the flower buds.

Honeysuckle stems are used in Chinese medicine as well. They are called jin yin teng and ren dong teng and they are commonly used in acupuncture. Many acupuncturists think that it helps to stimulate the energy flow or qi. Dysentery and feverish colds are treated with honeysuckle stems and branches and rheumatoid arthritis is treated with them as well. Combining the honeysuckle with other herbs is normal, too, especially to prepare a remedy that cools.

Honeysuckle can be prepared into several different remedies. A hot tea can be made with a honeysuckle infusion and you can use this as an expectorant. Combining honeysuckle with other herbs, including mulberry and cowslip, to make a tea that can be used to relieve asthma symptoms and coughs. A syrup can be made to treat coughs with the flowers and the buds can be prepared as a tincture to help relieve diarrhea and gastroenteritis symptoms.
