Hi Tina, I'm just checking all of my worldvillage blogs for comments. I'm sorry it took so long but I wanted to let you know that I am still here and still functioning. Every day hurts from head to toe, and I am exhausted all of the time, especially from the fibro, however, the key is, you just need to get up and get moving. I use over the counter pain killers to take the edge off just so I can function but I'm still functioning.

Thanks very much for your story. it seems like we have a lot in common. I am very sorry for your losses as well and that you have these illnesses.

I would just encourage you to go further with your hobby and build a business centered around it. You read about building a website for free by going to google or you can just go to Godaddy.com (godaddy is an inexpensive way to get a small website up and running). I had no experience when I started online and now I have about 25 websites and/or blogs. Quilting is very popular. If you can write your own ebook and / or design your own patterns, you can sell your ebook through your website and through articles like this and others. You can sell your book on ebay through classified ads. You can make it instantly downloadable. I can't go into everything that is involved here, but do the research like I did and just do something, even if it isn't perfect at first. Starting a business online isn't easy, but taking the first step to explore whether that is an option for you, is.

I would make a plan, find or develop your product, the go to www.blogger.com to learn how to build a simple blog (similar to a website). You can look at other people's blogs as well. One of mine where I sell a travel product is: http://work-at-home-moms-prosper.blogspot.com/ I have many more but this will give you some idea. You can start one offering your quilting tips . . . call it tinasquiltingtips.blogspot.com or something like that. Then go to clickbank.com and see if there are any ebooks already written about quilting. You can give your free tips on your blog and offer the ebook for sale that has already been written for you on clickbank. Then when your own ebook is done, you can offer yours alone or both or several that you find that will be helpful to your readers. Make your site valuable and your readers will come back. Hope this helps a bit. God bless you and hang in there even though I know it is so hard to do. I have the pain and I don't discount that it's there, but I also think of many others who have it so much worse. That doesn't take away my pain but it helps to take away the "poor me" thoughts most of the time :)

Hi Margaret,

I am sorry that you have sarcoidosis. I am also sorry about your grandmother and mother dying of cancer. That sucks big time! But I am happy that yours is not lymphoma. I know a little about how you feel, because two days ago, my doctor told me I have sarcoidosis also. I was having chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea, weakness and was sleeping 10 hours a day. I too have asthma. My grandmother died of lung cancer from smoking, and my mother is still alive. My 48-year-old twin sister just had a stroke, the same weekend I was in the hospital with chest pains. They have no idea why, which also scares me, cause she could have another one. Plus who knows if I am next?

Thank you for posting your comments. They were helpful to me in a comforting way, especially the part where you said to go on living your life and not let it get the best of you. I am considering trying some natural remedies that are high in antioxidants, but I need to do more research first. Mangosteen, acai, gogi, and resveratrol are some of the things I am researching. I have tried resveratrol and went through a whole bottle and could actually feel a difference. This was before I knew what was wrong with me. Looking back, I believe I have had this for 2-3 years and just thought it was symptoms from my fibromyalgia. Because fibromyalgia can also make your entire body ache relentlessly.

I have good days and bad days. A year ago I finished my bachelors degree in behavioral arts and sciences with a gpa of 4.0. However, I have been unable to get a job. In light of my health, I am now wondering what to do about my career, plans to further my education, and life in general. I would like to do my own business from home somehow if possible. I am currently designing quilting patterns for a book I am hoping to get published. I've been a quilter for 30 years and have sewn clothing, curtains and other things since I was 16. I love designing new things. I also love making brochures, newsletters, and book covers. Writing is a passion of mine. Now if I could find a way to combine all these. Sorry I rambled on about me. I am hoping your life is going well. Thanks for your message of hope. I am an optimist as well, but I was just knocked down with a giant boulder and am struggling to get it off me, so I can stand up again. Thanks.

Tina
