Every one knows about Roger Federer. He will most likely win the tournament today in his hometown, Basel, Switzerland.
It’s a rather minor sport, but a Swiss professional cyclist, Fabian Cancellara, is also doing well.
I lived in his hometown outside of Berne, the capital of Switzerland, for a while. You can imagine everyone in the town knows about cycling.

European Football (Soccer) Championship 2008 will be held in Switzerland and Austria.
In Switzerland, there will be only 3 games each it 3 cities, and 5 in one. This doesn’t seem a lot, but it’s just amazing how much stuff is happening for just for that event which lasts practically only for 2 weeks. I am a bit involved with the event. I may be a volunteer one day as well. I will tell you the stories if I get to be in the stadium one day.
In any case, it will be for sure a big money event for Switzerland.
