On September 2010, The MTV Music awards saw something extraordinary that would later influence Taylor Swift’s music career. It was an action than was completely unfathomable. As unpredictable as Kanye had been in previous demonstrations, no one expected to witness such extreme behavior from the star. Taylor Swift had won the best female video award and came up on stage to receive her award and to thank her fans as she said in an interview on the view. Swift took the mike and before she could utter a word, kanye west snatched the mike from her, stating that that Beyonce who was one of the nominees for that award had the best video of all times.

Wow, everyone was in shock. agry, awestruck, confused. Feelings of every kind permeated the building. Swift became speechless. She later explained it was a feeling of anger mixed with confusion. The initial sentiment was pity, support and solidarity towards swift. It was tough time for the artist and a great embarrassment  to everone in the music fraternity.

Taylor Swift’s career has since blossomed as she receives more publicity, support and adoration from the world. Her popularity has gone to the roof. She has received award after award and her songs have topped chart after chart, making her one of the best selling country music singer of all times.

Whether it be directly or indirectly, Kanye West’s action has definitely propelled Swift’s career. What Kanye did was clearly despicable and I think that he should not be in the music industry until he can learn to drown his arrogance into the ocean. Whether Swift’s career taking off is a result of kanye’s actions, that is left to be debated. One thing I do know is that Swift’s career is set to sky rocket even more in the coming months and years. Her songs will continue to be in the hearts of music lovers world wide.
