[Nuby replacement parts] are finally here. What is a Nuby? Nuby is the brand name for a product line comprised of sippy cups and numerous other baby products, suitable for babies and toddlers worldwide. The Nuby sippy gripper cup is one of the most popular selling cups on the market today. The reason is that it is BPA free (always has been), it is inexpensive, it’s easy to grip and it’s a great transition cup for babies who are weaning off of a bottle and onto a cup.

The Nuby sippy cups have been very successful, but now they are even more popular because families can now buy the Nuby replacement parts for their two most popular sippy cups. Many families are still not aware that these are available. The first replacement part is for the tall, 10 oz Nuby sippy gripper cup. It comes packaged in a sealed hard plastic with two spouts. They fit only the Nuby sippy cups and they measure about two inches from end to end.

This is the first cup that makes transitioning from bottle to sippy cup very easy for a baby. The spouts are made of 100% medical grade soft silicone so they have the same feel as the baby bottle, but they are not nipples. They are practical and for the most part, unless abused and the valves break, they don’t leak. They sell for anywhere from $1.99 per pack up to $3.00 per pack.

The second Nuby replacement part is for the two handled, no spill, 10 oz. Nuby sippy cup. This spout measures about 2 3/4 inches from side to side and will fit only this sippy cup. This cup is very popular with toddlers who just can’t hold onto the gripper cup. They typically will transition from either of these cups to a regular cup fairly quickly. The cups are great to have though, especially for trips because they do not leak for the most part.

The main reason the valves break is because when babies start to get their teeth, they like to chew on the soft silicone. That, in turn, breaks a valve or two and causes the cup to leak. The warnings inside the package tell parents not to let their children chew on the spouts, but most still do anyway. The best thing to do is to take the cup away by substituting something in it’s place, like a teething ring, or a chew toy so the spouts last longer.

The spouts come in small or larger quantities. They can be found at stores like Target or Baby Depot, however, even when they are found, the stores are typically sold out. They can be found on Ebay and in other online stores available 24/7. You can visit http://shop.nubysippycup.com for more information on these and other Nuby replacement parts.

[Nuby replacement spouts] are finally available for the 10 oz and 12 oz Nuby sippy gripper cups. They are very hard to find, but once you do find them, you will not have to throw away the sippy cups themselves which can last for many years, even after washing them on the top rack of your dishwasher.

Luv ‘n Care, the manufacturer of Nuby products, has finally come out with Nuby replacement spouts for their 10 oz Nuby sippy gripper cups.

The newest nuby replacement spouts appear to be a better quality of silicone and as such, they seem to be stronger and hold up for a longer period of time. The older spouts were a bit softer and the spout valves seemed to break more easily.

The Luv n Care company still requests that parents closely monitor their children while they are using the Nuby sippy cup replacement spouts. If a baby or toddler is teething, they have a tendency to chew on the spouts. In turn, although the spouts are touted as being leak proof and spill proof, once the spout valve is broken inside, the sippy cups will begin to leak.

Having personally used the Nuby sippy cups for my children and now for my newest grand child who is now 11 months old, I have tried numerous times to make the cups leak. They did leak when I put the lid on wrong. Both the older and the newer Nuby replacement spouts have notches on them. If you aren’t paying attention or don’t know this, your sippy cup may leak.

Those notches have to line up with the notches that are on the rim of the lid that screws onto the sippy cup. If you don’t line up the notches and you don’t screw the lid on correctly, you may have a problem. Otherwise, I have tried to make these sippy cups leak by shaking them rather violently and they do not leak if you follow the directions.

The Nuby replacement spouts seemed to last about a month when my granddaughter started teething and had actual teeth erupting. I always check the spout valves now to make sure she isn’t breaking them as she bites and I never leave her alone with any sippy cup. I don’t want her to choke on her milk either.

The Nuby replacement spouts are very hard to find but there may be some Walmart stores carrying them and if not, some of the Baby Depot Stores within Burlington may carry them. Other wise, you can find them on the internet at http://www.nubysippycup.com

If you ever purchase any Nuby product that you have a problem with, Luv n Care customer service is wonderful and they will make every attempt to help correct the problem. You can reach them at their corporate offices in writing or by phone at:

(Bisphenol A Free) are all the rage today. Sippy cups that parents have used for years are being replaced by the newer plastics that do not contain the chemical bisphenol A. There are many controversies as to what actual harm bisphenol A can cause, or for that matter, why a [BPA free sippy cup] is really any better, but some parents would prefer to take precautions once they have read the controversial information.

Regardless, there is one brand of sippy cup that has been BPA free since it was manufactured many years ago by the Luv n Care Company in Monroe, Louisiana. The cup is the Nuby 10 oz. no drip, no spill sippy cup. For all of the moms and dads and grandparents who are concerned, please rest assured that the manufacturer of the world’s leading Nuby Sippy Cup (10 oz) is now actively advertising and promoting the fact that their 10 oz sippy cups are and always have been [bisphenol A free sippy cups] aka [BPA free].

For those of you who don’t have a clue as to what a Nuby sippy cup is, please click here to see the pictures. The Nuby sippy cup is rated as the number one best selling sippy cup in popularity. This cup, if used correctly, is a no spill, no drip sippy cup that your toddler can shake shake shake all over the place without a drop spilling to the ground. They come in fun, bright colors and they are dishwasher safe.

This particular BPA free sippy cup is also great for any baby transitioning from bottle to sippy cup. The spout is nice and soft. (the spout is also BPA free). The bottle has a great shape that allows your baby to grip it easily. It only leaks on purpose when the spout is pressed down so that the holes open up on the top and that should only occur if your baby is drinking. If it is leaking around the rim, it’s important to look at the lid and line up the two grooves on each side of the spout with the lines on the rim of the lid. If it is lined up properly, it should not leak.

After watching my own kids run across the living room floor with a variety of other sippy cups in hand, and spilling drinks in the car and on the kitchen floor, at home and in other friend’s houses, time and time again, I discovered the no drip, no spill 10 oz Bisphenol A free Nuby sippy cup.

At first I didn’t believe the hype that it was no drip and no spill. In fact, when I got the first Nuby sippy cup and I washed it out and got ready to use it, it leaked! Yes, it leaked right out of the side around the rim. Another time, I was in a real hurry and wasn’t watching what I was doing so I screwed the lid on, picked it up and shook it and milk flew all over the place.

Peeved, the first time I thought I had been ripped off. So I re-read the directions. It said to make sure the lid was on properly. It didn’t take me long to realize that the lid was not on the right way. In fact, when I had put it on, I put it on crooked. I unscrewed it and put more water in it. I fixed it. Then I shook it numerous times watching for the slightest drop, but it didn’t leak! That’s what happened the second time. The lid was on crooked. When I fixed it, it didn’t leak.

The true test came recently when giving my 8 month old granddaughter Ava her first BPA free Nuby sippy cup. She is still on the bottle, but I needed a diversion one day so I filled it with water and gave it to her. Nothing was coming out. Not only wouldn’t it drip or spill, but it wouldn’t come out even in her mouth. I finally tilted it enough that she started sucking on it like a nipple.

Then the water came out. After she was done with it, she took it out of her mouth and began to toss it back and forth in her hand. It didn’t drip. She finally tossed it to the rug and not a drop could be found on the rug. The Nuby sippy cup had passed it’s rigorous inspection testing.

The 10 oz Nuby sippy cup had lived up to it’s fine reputation! I highly recommend this cup to anyone who has a toddler. In addition, for babies, the silicone spout is nice and soft and seems to be a great transition spout from bottle to sippy cup.

If you do have a cup that leaks, check the lid and try again. If it still leaks then you should take it back and get a replacement. I don’t care what brand product you buy today, there are bound to be defects in a few of the millions of products manufactured.

Also, with this cup, as noted above, if you press on the spout part a certain way, the spout will open. If you put the cup in your diaper bag and it turns upside down with liquid in it, if the spout is pressing on the bottom of the bag, the valve may open up and leak so you will want to keep that in mind.

As with any item that goes into your baby’s mouth, you must also regularly check the spout to see if it is worn or torn, especially if your toddler is getting teeth. Nuby is now making the replacement spouts but only for the 10 oz sippy cups you see pictured here. Not for the ones with handles.

If your toddler is chewing on the spout, it will eventually break down and leak. As you would with any pacifier or bottle nipple, check your toddler’s spouts frequently for wear and then replace them.
