If you are one of the many who are suffering from diabetes, maybe you are aware that the malfunctioning of the pancreas is the cause of your disease.

The pancreas, roughly oblong in shape, is one of the endocrine glands, and is the producer of insulin which controls the way the body makes use of sugar. Set in the middle of the pancreatic tissue are small islands of different cells which produce a secretion called insulin, and this substance flows directly into the blood stream. It reaches to all parts of the body and controls the body’s use of sugar. If something goes wrong with the pancreas, these tiny islands quit working properly and the sugar in our blood increases and we become ill with the disease called diabetes mellitus. Medical studies have shown that this disease frequently arises because of the lack of minute amounts of the hormone insulin from these vitally important gland cells ; and when the pancreas is in malfunction and becomes overactive, it can also produce too much insulin and over-responsive to sugar, thus causing low blood sugar or what is called hypoglycemia.
