As is the case with Afghanistan (which the former Soviet Union couldn’t beat), so the war in Iraq is proving to be the Achilees’ heel for western society. We claimed we fought for democracy but we have lost important elements of our own self-respect in the process.
Read the FACTS on what is bound to happen…
The War in Iraq saw a lot of resistance from two European nations. Both Germany and France were courageous enough to challenge the position of the US towards Iraq in the form of taking away Saddam Hussein. Although these nations were correct in pointing out some of the problems in the situation at hand no excuses (official anyway) have ever been issued.
George Bush is now nearing the end of his RULE as President. One could certainly think of the famous series “24″ when we see the single-handed intentions of the Presidency. Regardless of who says what words like patriotism and respect have somehow lost part of their meaning when we see actions as these in the so-called war on terror….
Taking Honest Stock of Status Quo
It may be painful to realize this, but we need to consider more often the fact that we CAN be wrong. We Danes do feel many Americans have lost much of their credibility when issues like Quantanamo and “unofficial” interrogation bases arise. It would be nice to see a decent person in the presidency of the United States. I have made a page exposing Hillary Clinton as a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, and it is my sincere hope that Condoleeza Rice would join the race for the presidency.
Carpe diem.
