Have you ever sat down with your credit card bills and really looked at them. It is way too easy to look at plastic and not view it like real money. In the store, especially this time of the year, it is easy to whip out the ol’ credit card and “pay” for a whole lot of stuff. I heard a woman the other day say, oh I just spent $300 there and all I planned to do is windowshop. Thank heaven for Visa.
It is really and truly scary how much different it feels to pulls out a wad of 20 dollar bills than it feels to slap the Mastercard down on the counter. Credit cards are a wonderful idea but they can really give a bad start to your new year when the bills start rolling in.
This does not mean that you should not use credit cards this time of the year. In many cases, credit cards offer bonuses for their use such as airmiles or insurance on the purchased item or rebates. I highly recommend using them for these benefits but give yourself frequent reminders that the items bought with the Mastercard or Visa or Diner’s Club or American Express still needs to be paid for in cold hard cash sooner or later.
Spend well. Have fun. But don’t forget that plastic translates into real cash.

You often hear how woman spend too much money shopping and paying for their purchases with credit cards . I have a different problem. My boyfriend doesn't understand that plastic turns into money. He spends way more than he makes and I end up paying his fees.
