When it comes to popping your zits – how do you know if it’s a wise thing to do or not?
My experience has taught me that it’s not worth it to try and force a pimple to pop. Sometimes your zit isn’t ready to be popped yet.
Let me explain, if your pimple is just a red bump and there isn’t any yellowish-white pus visible just beneath the surface then I recommend you wait. You see, trying to pop your zit at this stage will cause nothing but harm.
If you’re pimple does have visible pus then it’s important that you sterilize everything. The reason for this is that you want to minimize your skin’s exposure to bacteria.
While many acne sufferers do prefer to use their fingertips (I personally find that I have better results that way), fingertips are not recommended because fingernails can harbor bacteria that can enter your freshly ruptured skin. So really scrub the top of your nails as well as under them with anti-bacterial soap – trust me, it’s a wise safe guard.
Now if you examine your acne blemish and find that pus and dirt have band together under the skin to form a blackhead, you can alternatively use a blackhead remover to safely remove them.
I bring up the use of a blackhead remover as an option because they apply equal pressure on all sides of your pimple instead of just on two sides.
Finally, extremely resistant pimples can be forced open with a needle or small pin. It is important though to sterilize the needle or pin either with alcohol or by holding the needle or pin in a flame for upwards of 15 seconds. Be sure to allow the needle or pin to cool a few seconds before carefully puncturing the center of the pimple.
Wishing you acne free skin.
