Treat Athlete’s Foot With The Garlic Herbal Remedy

Garlic has properties that are useful in the treatment of various bacterial, viral and fungal infections. It is an excellent herbal remedy that can be used to treat athlete’s foot. The space between your toes is a perfect place for fungus to grow because it is usually dark and damp. This oftentimes results in tinea pedis, or athlete’s foot. The fungus comes from wet, warm places such as shower stalls, locker room floors, and pool decks.



When you get athlete’s foot, you experience a hot, red, burning sensation between your toes. You will also have itchy, flaking, and peeling skin. Getting rid of this condition is not always easy because this fungus can deeply penetrate your skin. In fact, it can even burrow so deep that commercial over-the-counter fungus-killing medications may not be good enough to deal with it. Even after several months of treatment it can suddenly reappear. This is why so many people are considering herbal remedies for more long lasting cure.

For people who are especially prone to getting athlete’s foot, there are some things that can be done to keep away this nasty fungus. These include:

1. Do not wear the same pair of shoes or socks two days in a row.

2. Make sure that you change your socks everyday, especially if your feet sweat.

Here is how you can use garlic as a herbal remedy to treat athlete’s foot. What you will want to do is rub 2 or 3 drops of pure garlic oil onto the areas where you have athlete’s foot. It will then absorb into your skin, down into the deepest levels where the fungus thrives. There is a downside to using garlic oil. Garlic has a very strong aroma. Since the garlic oil is absorbed into your bloodstream you will then have this odor on your breath for at least 30 minutes after applying it to your feet.

Garlic capsules can also be used here. All you need to do is pierce 2 capsules and squeeze their oil onto a cotton ball. You can then rub this cotton ball over your feet before putting on a pair of socks so that the oil does not get onto your bed linens and so that you can be sure that the garlic penetrates your skin.

For chronic conditions, garlic has to be used daily over an extended period of time. Specifically, for the treatment of athlete’s foot, you may need to use garlic for up to 6 months. For prevention purposes and to effectively cure your athlete’s foot (so that the infection does not reappear), you may also wish to consume garlic capsules or include lots of garlic in your daily meals. Garlic also helps to improve the immune functions of your body and can prevent cancer.
