It’s good to be here. I want to invite you to get a cup of tea, or coffee, or even just a glass of water, if that’s what you prefer, and come along with me, as I take you on my family’s journey from our home country, Romania, to America.
We’ve been here, in United States since February 9th 1990, but our journey began a couple of years before that.
In the coming weeks and months, you’ll get an inside look at how coming to America changed our lives forever. You’ll also learn that when you really want something, there is nothing in the world that will stop you: we are living proof of that.
I would love to hear from you: your thoughts, questions, and comments are welcomed.
I’ll probably be posting here every few days, and I hope you come back to visit.
I’ll give you a little background on our family, so you can have an idea where we were in our lives when we started this journey.
My husband and I met in high school, and married 5 years later, after only 5 months of courtship (even though we met in high school, we didn’t become “friends” until a lot later). We had our son only a few days before our 1st year anniversary, and that’s when we started thinking about what the future held for our growing family, and especially for our son.
Romania was a communist country, and because of our religious beliefs the future didn’t look too bright.
Next, I’ll tell you about why we wanted to come to America: it’s not because we were poor, or didn’t have good jobs. In fact, I was a Pharmacy Technician, and my husband was a Dental Technician, both well paid jobs.
I’ll see you soon.
