If you're like me (or many others I know) and are too busy to worry about shaving everyday, you should seriously consider this. Any discomfort you may experience is totally worth it!!!! Results vary for everybody so some may see dramatic results after 3-4 treatments and others may need more. We offer topical numbing cream if the discomfort is unbearable but at least give it a try. I had my treatments at American Medical Aesthetics. I got a reasonable deal and the treatments were very effective. 5 visits and the hair is gone. The treatments were not "comfortable" but nor were they painful. I'd say they were "tolerable" and totally worth it. The staff were excellent and the care was terrific.
Results vary a lot depending on setting, the laser used, and skin/hair type. For me, I can understand the frustration that Mike went through. It's anything but pain free--even with numbing and cold blower. I did see results, however, a lot of those medical spa places won't tell you that it you will NOT be completely hair free by the end of 6 treatments. Some areas can EASILY take 12+ treatments to get to 100%. Factor in the cost of at least 3 more treatments into your budget, or you'll be sorry. I'm the ideal candidate, with light skin, and very very dark roots, I used alexandrite and diode lasers at high settings too.
This is not "virtually painless." The treatment hurt like a B____, was supposed to be "95% effective" after 5 treatments and after 9 I've seen MINIMAL reults. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time, don't waste your energy, AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! You will be bitterly disappointed.
