Woman about to give birth can feel scared and intimidated, especially when there are so many unknowns that can happen during the process. A lot of decisions should be made in advance, knowing whether you want to have a vaginal birth using medication, going all natural with no pain relief or whether your doctor thinks a cesarean is the best way to go, have a birthing plan, and be flexible enough to make changes if things don’t happen as you thought they would. A woman giving birth can mentally prepare for the task so it can be a lot less painful, you’ll not only need a clear idea of what to expect but you should try to be physically prepared as well.
There are a few stages of labor, 1) Early beginning phase – you may feel elated that your finally going to get your body back and get to see your new one very soon.
2) Active – Your going to be doing a lot of the hard work here, contractions are usually four to five minutes apart, this phase will not last forever. 3) Transition – known as being the shortest part of labor, it is one of the hardest, your body will be completely dilated by the end of this phase, which could take about one to two hours. 4) Push – it’s finally your turn to take over where your body has done all the work for you. 5) Placenta – you’ll probably be distracted by the birth of your beautiful baby, but you’ll still need to push the placenta out – this is a cake walk for you know. 6) Postpartum – your body will once again be working hard to get you back in shape.
